Revelation has a couple of important characters and we have already introduced the harlot, but there are a couple more that we must be introduced and one of them is the beast. This guy comes on the stage in Revelation. 13:1.
“And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.” (Rev. 13:1).
The beast has a characteristic that I know many fear even today, 666. If anyone has a little fun of “tagging” some people as “the beast”, there are others who are more in earnest and are serious enough. “For thy Maker is thine husband; the LORD of hosts is his name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall he be called.” (Isa. 54:5)
“Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD:” (Jer. 31:31-32)
